Dinosaurs in Zigong

Here's just one more fantastic thing about Zigong. There is a fabulous dinosaur dig just minutes from where we will be. The location of the dinosaur fossils were first discovered in 1972. The fossils are from the Meso-Jurassic period, about 160 million years ago. At this location, over 100 dinosaur remains have been excavated, and about 30 of them are complete dinosaur skeletons.

Progress

Chinese New Year is fast approaching. It's going to be the year of the Tiger. My understanding is that it is a White Iron Tiger. I'll find out more about that. Found this artwork and thought it quite interesting.
Zigong is famous for its salt. Salt has been harvested from brine wells for thousands of years. That's another whole story in itself. Also found a great picture of the Salt Museum. It will be one of our visits and will tell you all more then.

Dealing with the relocation.

We are now in kind of a holding pattern as we are not real sure when we will be able to Fly out or whether we will be going to Shanghai first or Bejing. There have been some issues with DL and NW and getting the flights set the way we want them. It will all work out, we just need to be patient. It's hard to not be a little disappointed because we would really like to already be on our way. All in Good time. Found a couple of great pictures of some of the "Lantern's" from last years festival. Wow. Can't wait to see them for real
